The book of James, one of the earliest New Testament books, was among the last to be included in the canon of scripture. It has been scrutinized over the ages, yet it stands as one of the great calibrating books of the New Testament. Considered the Proverbs of the New Testament, it is supremely practical, targeting 5 major themes that speak to the very core of our faith, inviting us to apply its teachings in our daily lives.

James, the half-brother of Jesus wrote the book, which makes it especially compelling, since he started as a doubter and an unbeliever, but became a central pillar in the first century ecclesia.

James writes with authority – but not on the basis of a perfect man, blameless in all of his ways, but in humility, he writes as an individual who learned through personal weakness and suffering the need to lean on His lord for strength through prayer. James is all about working faith – faith that works – walking in wisdom. It is the realisation and the desire for God to be the great director of our lives – for He is the one that is truly in control.

I am looking forward to being with you all very soon, God willing!

Family Bible Reading Groups

Each morning after breakfast we connect for Bible readings in extended family groups. The theme-based Bible readings are supported by a range of fun activities – piecing together word puzzles, creating a 3D scene out of newspaper, playing Bible Battleship and many more.

Evenings at Anglesea

Variety at its finest!  Each evening at Anglesea offers a different activity and there is something for everyone – some evenings are about praise and worship, others are thought provoking, all are variously entertaining, some are hilarious and some simply peculiar.
